Thousands of users benefit from the Free SMS service!

Automatically disabling free SMS

If you cannot use the "Free Sms" service anymore, this means that this service has been temporarily disabled because of an unappropriate use not in compliance with our Terms of Service and Commercial Offer.

Why did this happen?

Our system has automatically revealed that you account has answered to more than 100 notification buzz (when a new Skebby SMS arrives). You might have answered accidentally, or you might have the answer machine or the call transfer on. The notification buzz is implemented via dedicated phone lines, and when answered, generates an unaffordable loss for Skebby, due to the fact that this service is offered completely for free.

This kind of service use is forbidden by our Commercial Offer, as described here and in the art 6.7 of our Terms of Service : "The Customer undertakes to use the Services in compliance with the terms described in the Commercial Offer."

The disabling of the service is necessary in order to prevent any further loss for Skebby, and to allow all other users who respect our conditions to continue to use and benefit from it.

How to reactivate Free SMS service

If you have some SMS credit, you can continue sending Easy SMS with Skebby.

If you would like to reactivate Free SMS service, you can choose between two options:

a) Purchase a credit top up of at least 10 euros ( this might be done even if you already have credit left on your account). The credit does not expire and can be transferred to other Skebby users. In this way Skebby is compensated for the losses incurred because of the answering to the notification buzz and for any other operating expenses, while the user can both be re-enabled to the Free SMS service and save a lot for sending SMS to all the friends who have not Skebby on their mobile yet.

b) If you already have enough credit and you don't wish to purchase a new top-up, you can choose to charge to your account the amount of 2 euros (including VAT), that will be deducted as soon as you'll click on the "Reactivate Free SMS" button in your Personal Area (Personal Data > Options> Notification).

How to prevent from happening again in the future

Please pay attention in order to not answer again to any notification buzz, and in particular:
1) be sure to save in your phonebook the number from which the notification buzz arrives. ( ex. if it is not already there, create a contact name like "New Skebby SMS" associated to the number from which you receive our buzz). You will be able to recognize the buzz without making mistakes.
2) Turn off any answering machine or call transfer services on your mobile. They might be active and they can automatically answer to the notification buzz. We suggest you to call your mobile number from another device, with your mobile turned off. In this way you will be able to discover if you have the answering machine or other transfer services turned on.
Moreover, if you use Skebby with a smartphone like iPhone, Android or Blackberry, you should set up the push notifications more effective and real time.
